Gemstones are simply rough pieces of crystal and precious rock which have been placed in tumbling machines containing water and sand so as to mimic the natural process of polishing by rivers and streams. The end result being beautifully smooth Gemstones to wear or handle.

Empowering Rooms etc: If you take a selection of Gems/Crystals and place them around a plate/bowl of food, this will help to transmit energy from the stones to these items, helping to cleanse the food vibrationaly and tie its nature to that of the stones. To energise a room with Gemstones/Crystals, it is best to decide on a shape (square, triangle etc) and put stones as far apart as possible so as to create an energy grid throughout the room. To make a Gemstone essence, all you have to do is place the stones of your liking next to a glass of spring water and leave outside or near day/sun light for 3hrs and the Gems energies will have been transferred into the water. This can now be taken regularly to help the Gems energies flow through your whole body. Only take about 5ml per day as tiny amounts can be very powerful. Crystals/Gems can be placed around plants to make them grow stronger or on your desk, work surface for inspiration. Simply carrying stones can be beneficial, but thinking of their properties and imagining you having their abilities is the best way forward. All you need to do is find a comfortable chair or spot, relax and close your eyes holding the gemstone in your hand, then begin to let the feel and the vibrations of the gemstone fill your body and begin visualisation techniques relevant to the stones qualities. Crystals are very powerful, their energies are not localised to a part of the body or room, but seem to have an infinite reach into the human mind and other dimensions/planes of existence. Some crystal energy is believed to be so powerful that it can reach the stars, especially Quartz. There are a number of ways to work with crystals. The first and most interesting is to place them in sunlight or strong artificial light so that you can stir at the colours and forms that become visible during this process. Start with the crystal base and look for any light shining there and any colours that appear. Concentrate on these to see what pictures emerge or visions unfold. Different things will be seen according to the crystals attributes. At times you can close your eyes as this can sometimes help to form a thought picture in the darkness of your mind that will enlighten you in some way. With crystals these techniques take time to work and practice to gain what you wish. This staring at crystals is actually an old technique from the past called "Gazing" and is a way to lock the mind and crystal together in a way that information can flow from one to the other. Ascension and the raising of our vibrational rate is also something that crystals are very good for. Due to the powerful energies locked within the crystals and due to their connection with the earth, they are one of the best methods for quickening and raising our spiritual vibrations so that our bodies become lighter and better able to connect with the hidden beings and energies that surround our lives. Angels, spirit guides, faeries, nature and tree spirits, ancestors and even extraterrestrial all seem to vibrate on much higher frequencies and levels than most of us, so raising our level enables us to meet them.

The first obvious way to raise your vibrations it to carry a crystal or gemstone with you when aiming to contact hidden forces/beings. So any spell, ritual or meditation should be enhanced by a crystal in the room or in your hand. Another way to raise spiritual vibrations with crystals is to use the following crystal ascension technique regularly. Lie down or sit comfortably in a place where you will not be disturbed for about twenty minutes. Take your crystal in one hand and gently squeeze it saying to yourself "make the connection", then relax your hand so it is comfortable and close your eyes. Now visualise yourself as covered by a matrix of tiny lines going upwards and across like a spiders web and these lines come in all directions intersecting with your body and passing through. These lines are the tiny atoms that make up the universe and connect us all together in the web of life. You want now to take some extra energy into yourself from the crystal to raise your own personal vibrations. To do this imagine the crystal as part of this web and see it glow powerfully energising all the threads that are intersecting it and in your mind run the light from the crystal into your hand and up your arm, into your upper body and head and down wards to your feet. Actually imagine yourself being energised with light from the crystal, let it light your whole body up, see and feel the energy surrounding and empowering you. Try to follow this technique slowly, letting the energy and light spread gently over ten minutes or so and once fully lightened just hold this state for five minutes letting your body be nourished by the crystal energies. Then gently open your eyes and for the following hour or so you should be better able to work on a higher frequency. So any spells, rituals will be easier and more powerful, channelling will be easier, so will spirit guide contact and working with any higher beings or giving absent healing. Even prayer and sending out positive energy to the earth and others will be enhanced. Within Crystals are faint layers or lines, ridges and shapes all unique and these are seen as gateways to other dimensions and psychic openings into your mind. Stirring at these produces an effect whereby your five senses shut down and you kind of enter the crystal. Much can be learnt about yourself and life by doing this frequently. When following this practice look for anything within the crystal and focus all your attention upon this. Close your eyes occasionally and see if the imprint of the crystal stays in your mind; if it does then try to push your way into the shape and then let your mind take you into the crystal. This can also be achieved with your eyes open. Your aim is to actually send your mind into the crystal and explore it and pass through portals opened for you. Practice, practice, practice and this route will bring many rewards.
