The whole perfume industry began, believe it or not because of the use of natural plant extracts going back to ancient Mesopotamia (long before the birth of Christ) when such perfumes or in actual fact oils were used and became popular specifically frankincense and myrrh resins which were from the sap of plants and crystallised in the sun. These could be pulverised and mixed with an oil to wear as a perfume or burnt as an incense.
In paganism these oils were worn and attracted certain magickal abilities or energies and the modern day perfume stem's from this. Modern perfumes are dead though, they seldom have any natural ingredients in them, whereas a pagan perfume has natural and living essential oils that are alive when you perfume your body with them. Below is a brief introduction to using such oils.
Always make sure you buy a perfume oil from genuine pagan people who say they make the oils freshly themselves, otherwise you will get either synthetic oils or an oil that has been pre-prepared and has sat on a shelf for many months.
Magickal Perfume Oils
When using these oils apply them to the body, an object, sprinkle them or soak in them and then you must spend at least five minutes imagining/visualising their properties coming true. Do this in your mind and verbally if you wish using the full powers of your imagination. All these preparations contain plant oils from herbs and flowers that have been used for millennia to get results.
Magickal Perfume Oils and Ointments are best applied to the underside of the wrist and just behind the ears and any other pulse points as you wish. Soaps should be used when needed in the obvious ways. Washes can be diluted at about ten drops per 100ml of water and then used as you wish or you can add ten drops neat to washing machines, baths etc; wherever you place the drops, diluted or not, they will work their magick. Powders and Salts should be sprinkled in places where they will not stain, placed in bowls etc. Bath Salts should be sprinkled in a warm bath at one tablespoon per bath and soaked in for fifteen minutes or more.
The preparations work in a number of ways. First the perfume (plant oils in the preparations) will penetrate your skin and enter the blood stream. This helps the oils work from within your body. Secondly the oils scent on your skin will carry a few inches from your body and therefore affect your aura to give it the oil's strengths. So an Abramelin Oil will help your aura give off the correct signals and qualities to attract spirits etc. The third way that the oils work is that they combine with your imagination to produce a very focused sense of what is to be achieved and this helps bring these changes into your life. Wear the oils or use the preparations any time and gradually you should begin to see the effects they have upon you. These recipes have been used in various forms for hundreds of years and must always be used in conjunction with the imagination, as belief is as important as the oil's ingredients. Just slapping the oil on with no belief will be of little use. Belief plus intent and the oils energies create a powerful synthesis of magick that works for you. For revenge type oils some can be smeared on an enemy but you must visualise what you want to happen to them first or sprinkle an oil near them.
